Scripture Lesson: Rev. 1:1-3; 22:6-7, 18-19
Topic: The Principle of Doubt of Yahweh’s
Prophets, Disciples, and Apostles
Rev. 1:1-3 1The Revelation of Yahshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ), which Elohim (God) gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: 2 Who bare record of the word of Elohim (God), and of the testimony of Yahshua the Messiah (Jesus Christ), and of all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Rev. 22:6-7, 18-19 6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and Yahweh Elohim (the Lord God) of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done. 7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. … 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, Elohim (God) shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, Elohim (God) shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”

Introduction
Now the spiritual and psychological principle of doubt is defined as “A feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction.” From a natural standpoint the effects of doubt can have a very pernicious influence upon the mind and soul. Doubt can having a harmful effect, especially in a gradual or subtle way, as "the pernicious influences of the mass media.”
I will examine doubt from a natural standpoint first for it is a reflection of doubt in the spirit. The Messiah said if I told you earthly thing and you believe not, how then can you believe heavenly or spiritual principles in the soul (John 3:12).
For example, if you doubt the stock market will not fall or you doubt it will rain after hearing rain in the weather report, this is what we call physical doubt. However, when the reality comes and there’s a stock market crash or a torrential rain although outside you saw it was a sunny, beautiful day, and decided not to take an umbrella or rain gear, the effects upon the mind is quite different. It has nothing to do with the eternal life of the soul, but represents a type and shadow (Rom 1:19-20).
If persistent self-doubt is not addressed, it can lead to: Anxiety. Depression. Procrastination or lack of motivation.
“When self-doubt — and negative talk — becomes a habit, it can prevent you from grabbing opportunities that come your way and acts as self-sabotage. When it keeps you from improving you are stuck in an endless loop of self-loathing and negativity, you're caught in a mental paralysis.”

Now in this discourse due to time factors we will stress the importance of doubt. We will limit our research to those believers of Yahweh who later disavowed the words of truth and then repented or died in disbelief.

The Law
We will begin with the children of Israel in Egypt who saw the wonders and signs of Yahweh and their miraculous deliverance out of Egypt by the slaying of the lamb. They rejoiced over the defeat of Pharaoh as he was drown in the Red Sea and sang the song of Moses (Exo. 15:1-5). However, in response to every challenge in the wilderness, they doubted Yahweh, including building the golden calf (Exo. 32), experiencing lack of food and water (Exo. 16th chapter, 17:1-7), jealousy of Moses’ leadership, disbelief of his power and their ignominious behavior in the Wilderness which caused the death of all who came out of Egypt (Israel’s Rebellion in the Wilderness and see Elohim Text, Vol. 4, CONDUCT OF ISRAEL IN THE WILDERNESS, p. 33-34).
The Israelites who came out of Egypt all died and were replaced by those born in the wilderness. The Apostle John gave the number 144,000 to the new birth born in the wilderness to Canaan land, 12 thousand per tribe (Rev. 7th and 14th Chapters). This example of doubt was repeated over and over again down through the ages dispensations.

The Prophets
In the story of Gideon in Judges 7th Chapter Yahweh taught Israel a lesson. They were supposed to go to war but had too many soldiers so he cut down that number so they wouldn’t say they had won the war by their own power.
Judges 7:2 “2 And Yahweh (the Lord) said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me.”
He honed down the number to such a small group of 300 that it would’ve been impossible for them to say they won the war by their own might. The first group he told her go home were those who are fearful and afraid to fight the battle. The second group were those who have wives or property they need to attend to. The third group were those that didn’t lap water like a dog which showed they weren’t humble enough to accept this victory through Yahweh’s power.
Another example of doubt can be seen with the 50 prophets of Elisha who saw Elijah’s translation, body, soul and spirit, into heaven after seeing the River Jordan parted by the mantle of Elijah. They had no idea what translation meant so they asked Elisha if they could go find Elijah‘s body somewhere.
Remember, Elijah was translated when he threw his mantel down to Elisha. His disciples could not understand that Elijah had been translated so they began to look for his physical body in the wilderness. 1 Kgs. 19:19–21; 2 Kgs. 2:1, 9-18
2 Kgs. 2:1, 9-18 "1 And it came to pass, when Yahweh (the Lord) would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. … 9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. 10 And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. 11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. 12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces. 13 He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan; 14 And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the Yahweh Elohim (the Lord God) of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.”
Elisha Succeeds Elijah
Elisha told he 50 prophets not to go, but they begged him so he relented and told them to go anyway. They looked high and low because they thought Yahweh had taken Elijah’s spirit and threw away his body, but they didn’t find his physical body. When they returned Elisha chastised them and reminded them that he told him not to go seeking the physical body. Their search for Elijah proves they didn’t understand Elijah’s translation.
"15 And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him. 16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of Yahweh (the Lord) hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send. 17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not. 18 And when they came again to him, (for he tarried at Jericho,) he said unto them, Did I not say unto you, Go not?”
There are many more similar stories in the prophets, but we will go onto the fulfillment with the Yahshua Messiah.
_________________
The Fulfillment
Now in the fulfillment, the disciples saw the Messiah do many miracles such as feeding many with little food (Matt. 15:32-39) and casting out demons (Matt. 8:28-34); Lk. 9:1-2) which they also did, yet in spite of all this, they did not believe in His crucifixion, burial and resurrection. In fact, they all denied it.
Yahshua told Peter that he would deny him three times, but Peter said this wouldn’t happen (Mark 14:27-31, 66-72).
Mark 14:27-31 “27 Then Yahshua (Jesus) said to them, “All of you will be made to stumble [i]because of Me this night, for it is written: ‘I will strike the Shepherd, And the sheep will be scattered.’ 28 “But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.”29 Peter said to Him, “Even if all are made to [j]stumble, yet I will not be.”30 Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you that today, even this night, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” 31 But he spoke more vehemently, “If I have to die with You, I will not deny You!”
However when the cock crowed Peter realized that it did happen.
The women came to Yahshua’s tomb in Galilee with spices to prepare his body and met an angel Who told them that he had resurrected (Matt 28:1-10; Lk 23:55-57). The women went and told the disciples who all ran to the tomb and were astonished and dismayed, but still disbelieving.
Matt. 24:1-12 “1 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, [a]and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of Yahshua the Messiah (the Lord Jesus). 4 And it happened, as they were [b]greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, 7 saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”
8 And they remembered His words. 9 Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. 11 And their words seemed to them like [c]idle tales, and they did not believe them. 12 But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths [d]lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.”
So for the 3 1/2 years that the Messiah was in His ministry they had no understanding of what His resurrection meant. Now the Messiah appeared to them and rebuked them for their stubbornness of hearts.
Matt. 24:36-39 “36 Now as they said these things, Yahshua (Jesus) Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.” 37 But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit. 38 And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”
So the disciples saw the same wonders and signs that the children of Israel saw in Egypt and wilderness and still had disbelief or doubt. It was only when the Holy Spirit was poured out June 6, AD 34 (the Messiah‘s 34th birthday) in Jerusalem, did they finally come to an understanding of the prophecy that was lay down in the Old Testament of the coming of the Messiah and His death, burial and resurrection and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit which established a New Covenant. So the outpouring of the Holy Spirit dispelled all doubt that salvation and eternal life was predicated on believing on the Son of Yahweh, Yahshua Messiah.
After the Holy Spirit was poured out, they received an understanding of the Law and Prophets, but didn’t understand the Apostle Paul would be converted (Acts 9:1-18) and the Gentiles would be grafted in after seven years (Acts 10:9-35).
Now the story doesn’t stop here. As many in the Christian world and IDMR forget, the book of Revelation and the purpose of Yahweh repeats again and again. There’s an all encompassing prophecy in Revelation 1:1-3, 22:16-18 that states not only should believers believe in the Messiah’s death, burial, and Resurrection which established the New Covenant, but they must also believe the prophecy written in Revelation as well. In Revelations first three verses it states the prophecy you have to believe in this age to save your soul.
