One of the ominous signs facing Mystery Babylon is its collapsing economy causing a worldwide recession. This is occurring primarily because NATO and the US placed sanctions on Russia for invading Ukraine. Russia in turn cut off the natural gas (NG) and oil to Europe, throwing it into recession. Prices of NG spiked five to ten times in Europe making it unaffordable to the citizens for heating and industrial production.
