Lee Edward Warren, born on February 9, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois embarked on his final journey on October 14, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, wisdom, and faith. Lee was the first child of James and Verlena Warren who preceded him in death. Throughout his remarkable life, Lee touched the hearts of countless individuals with his unwavering spirit and dedication. 


Lee's educational journey began in Chicago, where he attended Henry Horner and Herzl Elementary Schools and Tilden Technical and Farragut High Schools. His strong foundation in academics paved the way for a Cum Laude graduation from DePaul University, a testament to his commitment to learning. 


In his youth, Lee was an active participant in his local church, Saint Laurence Christian Church, and several Baptist congregations. His dedication to faith was exhibited through his role as a proficient Sunday School teacher, spreading the teachings of the gospel to those around him. Later in life, Lee’s love of travel took him across the globe, working in Germany, with his dear friend Peter Goudeaux, who also preceded him in death. 


Lee's commitment to service continued as he enlisted in the Navy, where he served and was honorably discharged. Over the years, Lee resided in various communities of Chicago, from the Southside during his childhood to the Westside in 1956 and later to Maywood and the Northside as an adult. He en-joyed a successful career and retired as a Sears Trust banker and finance analyst for CNA Insurance. 


Lee's life was marked by an incredible series of near death experiences, each time defying the odds and emerging stronger. He survived a mid-airplane crash, a harrowing battle with a flesh-eating disease (streptococcus sepsis), two rounds of cancer, a mini-stroke, failed kidneys, and numerous childhood ill-nesses. His indomitable spirit and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew him. 


Ministry Highlights / Accomplishments 


1970s - Ministry was a significant part of Lee's life, and his dedication to the Institute of Divine Meta-physical Research (IDMR) and the teachings of Dr. Henry C. Kinley was unwavering. In the 1970s, he joined the IDMR and, following Dr. Kinley's teachings, established an IDMR school in Maywood in 1978. He later moved the school to various locations including downtown Chicago and Hyde Park. Ultimately, he hosted classes online during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lee's lifelong dedication to the pursuit of truth and his deep spiritual connection marked him as a true warrior in the spiritual realm, led by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14). 




1980s - In the 1980s, Lee met and married Penelope Denise (Penny) Williams, who became his committed, resolute soulmate and a tireless supporter of both him and the IDMR school. His commitment to the ministry led him to preach the Book of Revelation chapter by chapter and verse by verse (see videos at https://plim2.org/intro_rev_85-86.html), leaving a lasting impact on those who followed his teachings. In 1988, with the help of Florida IDMR, he expanded his ministry to Kingston, Jamaica, starting an IDMR school there. 


1990s - Lee's impact reached even greater heights in the 1990s when he founded the Power Latent in Man Inc. (PLIM Inc.), a 501(C)3 non-profit holistic ministry that emphasized the well-being of the body, soul, and spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23}. His deep knowledge of herbal health, finance, and religion became evident as he hosted a long-running cable TV series, addressing questions from the audience that were not covered in IDMR teachings. From 1993 to 2003, Dr. Lee Warren authored the PLIM Report, further contributing to the knowledge and wisdom he shared with the world. 


Dr. Lee Warren was more than just a spiritual leader; he was gifted to be the peoples’ doctor, a metaphysical herbalist, a natural healer, and a repository of knowledge. Though he appeared reserved to most, he was the family's Griot, the historian who shared the stories of their collective past. He had a special bond with his only brother and nieces and nephews, bringing joy to family gatherings with his sense of humor and wit, and sometimes his silliness. 


Lee is survived by his loving wife, Penny, and five sibings: Alice Goudeaux (Nolan), Rose Parker (John-deceased), Vanessa Taylor (Fred-deceased), James Jr., and Karen Castleberry. 


He is also survived by thirteen nephews and nieces, along with numerous great-nephews and great-nieces, and many other family members and friends. 


Dr. Lee Warren's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many. He was not only a beloved family member, but also a beacon of wisdom, knowledge, and spirituality to the countless lives he touched. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know him.
